SW Shared Passive Fire Protection Expertise At Russian Oil & Gas Forum - 13/12/2018

Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings recently participated in the US-Russia Standards & Conformity Assessment Forum in Moscow. David Sugden, PFP/CSP Consultant shared his expertise in a panel discussion on ‘The Use and Benefits of UL Standards in the Global Oil and Gas Industry’.

The pressures on those managing offshore projects to meet tight time and quality schedules has never been higher, and with it comes the need to develop the coatings technology to ensure protection from corrosion without compromise. The presentation covered the impact of UL standardisation on Russian oil and gas companies. With fire safety on offshore vessels a critical consideration, David gave an overview of the different systems that offer proven protection against both hydrocarbon and cellulosic fires and discussed how FIRETEX® world-renowned intumescent coatings can help to meet the demands of the industry. Sherwin-Williams continues to support Russia as part of its plans to meet the needs of the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) market. With more than 20 years’ experience in delivering passive fire protection (PFP), the presentation is one of a number of talks that Sherwin-Williams (formerly Leighs Paints) will be giving on the subject at industry events across the region.
