The New President of the Institute of Corrosion.
Sherwin-Williams is pleased to announce that their Project Development Manager (PDM) Northern Europe, Sarah Vasey, was elected to the post of President of the Institute of Corrosion at last night’s Annual General Meeting. Sarah will serve for two years.
The ICorr AGM was held in the Council Chamber of Birmingham City Council and Sarah took over the role of President from John Fletcher of Elcometer Ltd, who becomes Immediate Past President, with Gareth Hinds of NPL elected as Vice President.
Sarah joined Sherwin-Williams in 2015 as PDM and has been a Professional Member of the Institute of Corrosion since 2012. She is a member of ICorr’s London Branch Committee, and is part of the Institute’s Young Engineers initiative, PDTC and is a member of the CORREX LTD Board. Sarah has worked in the coatings industry for 12 years, first with International Paint, before taking on her present role.
“my objective for the next two years as President is to develop further the initiatives of the previous Presidents, and support the current Officers and Chairs of the various ICorr groups, to ensure the Institute remains a strong and thriving body. I will continue the drive to increase individual membership, in particular among the younger members of the profession, by making the corrosion and coatings communities, and the general public, more aware of the services and opportunities ICorr provides”.
Sarah takes up her new role with immediate effect.
